Team PixelPaddle had the privilege to catch up with Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada, and the Honourable Terry Beech, Minister of Citizens’ Services of Canada on an exciting afternoon session hosted by Burnaby Board of Trade in May 2024. The Ministers shared insights on the 2024-2025 Immigration Levels Plan, addressing newcomer inclusion, changes in international student permit application caps, and challenges for post-secondary institutions. This engaging discussion underscored the government’s dedication to using immigration as a catalyst for economic growth and community development while ensuring comprehensive support for newcomers to thrive in Canada. During the networking session, Mr. Meer Anwar, CEO of PixelPaddle, introduced Mr. Beech to PixelPaddle—a unique SaaS Sports Metaverse solution that is gaining traction in both local and international markets as part of its startup journey in Canada. Despite its limited physical presence in Canada, PixelPaddle has demonstrated remarkable efficiency in establishing connections within the country. CEO Mr. Meer Anwar has swiftly familiarized himself with Canadian culture and the intricacies of the sports industry. With support from the marketing team, he successfully managed to reach the senior stakeholders at Cricket Canada, including President Mr. Rashpal Singh, Vice President Mr. Amjad Bajwa, and General Manager Mr. Ingleton Liburd. In pursuit of engaging with sports team management and marketing agencies, PixelPaddle also forged connections with BoundariesNorth (https://boundariesnorth.ca/) team including Mr. Rahul Srinivasan (CEO), Mr. Srinidhi Sridharan (COO), and Mr. Bilal Cheema (Executive Board Member) – an initiative spearheaded by WEIC Sports United. This strategic alliance, to be executed in collaboration with CricketCanada, aims to foster a robust sporting ecosystem for cricket across the country, involving key stakeholders from both public and private sectors. With a focus on enhancing cricket participation for men and women in Canada, the initiative seeks to establish supportive infrastructure and create opportunities for cricketers at all levels, from grassroots to national teams. Following these interactions, stakeholders have agreed to formalize their collaboration through a contract that will leverage the PixelPaddle platform for sports leagues, branding, promotions, outreach, and various revenue streams. Additionally, a formal press release is currently in the drafting phase and is expected to be announced shortly pending mutual consent from both parties. Both companies have also agreed to develop Terms of References to explore mutually beneficial business opportunities, targeting leagues, teams, athletes, and fans directly and indirectly in domain of Cricket, Ice-hockey, Kabbadi, Soccer and other sports.

Our aim is to establish a common ground where the backend framework can be implemented to facilitate authentic asset ownership and exchange, providing fans with a stable and widely anticipated platform. After exploring and negotiating with multiple platforms, #PixelPaddle has achieved its initial presence on the DAO within ICP.HUB Canada, covering both Canada and the US, supported by the #Dfinity Foundation.   Facilitated their very capable local team in Canada, comprised of Mr. Javier Arroyo Ferrer (Co-founder) and Mr. Ritvick Paliwal (Founding Advisor); PixelPaddle has invested significant time and effort to understand and align the deployment of our sportsverse backend as a DAO on ICPHUB.
